Year Completed: 2016
Cardinal Joint Fire District, Canfield, OH. This is the 4th truck Sensible Products Inc. has outfitted for the Cardinal Joint Fire District. This ladder truck had some equipment mounted, but the department wanted the truck to look and function like the other three trucks we had outfitted for them. In the first drivers side compartment, one shelf was removed and another adjusted to better fit the equipment needed in this compartment. All water flow equipment was mounted on a rear wall Chanl Panl board, or black poly floor board. All LDH fittings, couplings, adapters, nozzles, and gate valves were mounted. Cord reels and generator were secured under the shelf in this compartment. On the vertical slide out panels in the first drivers side compartment, 2 Chanl Panl boards were added to allow easier mounting of the tools. Pike poles, hux bar, TNT tool, sledge hammer, claw tools, and halligans were reconfigured for the space and mounted on the Chanl Panl boards. Bolt cutters and shovels were mounted on the wall of this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, a black poly floor board with 1″ aluminum lip was added and a chain and rotary saw were mounted here. A pocket was added on the wall for saw parts, and a saw blade post was added for extra blades. In the third drivers side compartment, the existing shelf was moved up to allow for better use of the space. Cribbing was moved from another area of the truck to on top of the shelf. A black poly floor board was added in this compartment and the combo tool, ram, and torch kit were all mounted. This cabinet is now organized to include all the extrication equipment needed. In the third passengers side compartment, the cribbing was moved to the opposite side of the truck for better functionality. In the second passengers side compartment, one generator was moved to the opposite side of the truck and the remaining generator, electric fan, cords, and portable lights were all mounted. A Chanl Panl wall board was added to mount the portable lights. In the first passenger side compartment, any water flow equipment that was mounted in here was moved to the opposite side of the truck. The existing shelf was lowered to make better use of the space to secure the RIT pack. A black poly floor board was added to the shelf and in lower portion of this compartment. The extinguishers were then remounted here. In the cab, the Fire Department wanted a cabinet in the door area of the back passengers side to hold EMS supplies. Sensible Products designed and constructed a custom plastic welded cabinet to fit in this area. The cabinet has one shelf which allows for two storage areas, as well as space on top of the cabinet to set helmets, map binders, etc. The left side of the cabinet was left open to still allow access to portable lights that were mounted here. The cabinet was then bolted to the floor of the apparatus. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck and custom cabinet were completed in 4 days and was ready to Go In-Service when leaving Sensible Products Inc.
