Year Completed: 2017
Kingsville Fire Department, Kingsville, Ohio. Sensible Products worked with this Fire Department when they were planning on a purchasing a new truck or deciding on a used truck. The Fire Department ended up purchasing a used Pierce apparatus. The truck came with some slides/trays and mounting brackets already in place. Sensible Products worked with the Fire Department to determine locations of the equipment and usability of the current slides/mounting brackets. The equipment was grouped in disciplines and organized so heavy equipment was down lower. Three extinguishers were moved and mounted underneath a fold down step, which gives access to the side/top mount pump. In the first drivers side compartment, Chanl Panl was added on the back walls, black poly boards on the floor, and all water flow equipment was mounted here. An SCBA, hose roller, and chimney bombs were also mounted in this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, the swing out panel already had some existing mounting brackets, but this whole cabinet was reworked to better use this space and better organize the tools so the ones used first would be on the front side of the swing out panel. The third drivers side compartment had a Chanl Panl wall board added to mount additional hand tools, and three saws and saw parts were mounted on a slide out in the lower portion of this compartment. A black poly floor board was added in the rear of the apparatus and a fan was secured with a strap. In the fourth passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was added to mount sawzalls, cords, and barrier tape. A new tool box was mounted on existing slides to allow the tool box to fully extend from the cabinet to allow full access to all drawers of the tool box even when other equipment was still in this compartment. An aluminum tray and side wall were added to house the fan below and portable lights above. Black poly floor boards were added throughout this compartment, and a piece of Chanl Panl was added to the aluminum side wall to mount extra cords in the future. The third passengers side compartment had miscellaneous equipment and air bags. A small aluminum shelf was added to better organize the air bags. In the second passengers side compartment, a custom net was made to hold the cribbing in place, and a custom plastic welded storage tote by Sensible Products housed the chains. In the first passengers side compartment, shelves were reworked to accommodate a refrigerator. Black poly floor board was added on the shelf and the refrigerator was secured in place. Below the refrigerator, a plastic welded divider by Sensible Products held and separated hose rolls and bottle jacks. Shovels and brooms were also mounted in this compartment. Several shelves were also added to the EMS cabinet in the cab. All equipment was labeled with engraved tags. This truck was completed in 4 1/2 days and was ready to Go In-Service when leaving Sensible Products.
