New Rosenbauer ladder for Lexington Twp. FD, Alliance, OH. Sensible Products Inc. visited the Fire Department to meet with their committee to come up with an equipment mounting plan on their new apparatus. Once the apparatus arrived at Sensible Products there was already a plan in place. In the first drivers side compartment, two (2) Chanl Panl boards were mounted, one on each side of the slide out panel. All LDH fittings and couplings were mounted on the Chanl Panl board with space left for additional fittings. Nozzles, gated wye, and mallet were all mounted in this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, three (3) small shelves were removed and re-installed in another compartment. A plastic welded divider was fabricated to hold hose rolls with a fixed top surface that mounted the float dock strainer and low level strainer. Space was left in the divider assembly to hold fire extinguishers, secured with a strap. A barrel strainer was mounted on the wall in this compartment. In the third drivers side compartment, a black poly floor board was installed and a chain and rotary saw were mounted. The current shelf in this compartment was reworked and moved up and to the back of this compartment. A trash hook was mounted on the front of the shelf for easy access. Also in this compartment, a pocket for saw parts was mounted, mixed fuel can bracket was mounted, and a post for extra saw blades was mounted. In the fourth drivers side compartment, the three (3) shelves from the first compartment were relocated and installed here. Hooks were supplied for the ladder belts. On the passengers side, compartments one and two were reconfigured to accommodate current equipment. Shelves were repositioned and lowered. Chanl Panl was installed on rear and side walls of this compartment. A black poly floor board was installed. All tools were mounted here including: flat head axe, sledge hammer, pry axe, irons, halligan, and trash hook. In the third passengers side compartment, a plastic welded divider was added and mounts for cords and cord adapters were added. In the cab of apparatus, two portable lights were mounted. On the ladder tip, a pike pole and axe were mounted. All equipment was labeled with red/white engraved tags. This truck was completed in 2 1/2 days.
