Year Completed: 2016

Maple Heights Fire Department, Maple Heights, Ohio. New Sutphen Engine for the Maple Heights Fire Department. Sensible Products worked with members of the Fire Department to determine locations of equipment and develop a mounting plan for their new Engine. All equipment was delivered with the truck to Sensible Products in Richfield, OH. All equipment was staged on carts near their approximate location and each cabinet was labeled as to what it was to contain. Sensible Products added Chanl Panl rear and side wall boards where required and black floor boards or Turtle Tile where required. First drivers side cabinet contained all water flow equipment that was mounted on Chanl Panl boards. Storz fittings, couplings, adapters, and an SCBA were all mounted. The Fire Department cleaned up some old brackets they had and supplied them to Sensible Products to mount in this cabinet. A shelf in this compartment was lowered to better utilize the space. A divider was also added in the lower portion of this cabinet to secure the monitor base. In the second drivers side cabinet, Sensible Products installed an out/down unit that the Fire Department supplied from an older apparatus. Sensible Products cleaned and refaced the edge to match the rest of the truck. This unit then held search rope and a Rit Pack. In the third drivers side compartment, Chanl Panl side wall boards were installed, one for future use and one to hold cords and meter puller. Ventilation equipment and generator were also secured in the lower portion of this cabinet. The rear of the apparatus holds extrication equipment. Sensible Products mounted cutters, spreaders, ram, and power unit. A Zephyr bracket was utilized to mount the spreaders. Third passengers side compartment contained hand tools in the upper portion and saws and saw parts in the lower portion. A Chanl Panl wall board was added to mount the tools such as axes, bolt cutters, and pipe wrench. The saws were secured in the lower portion, a pocket was added to hold saw parts and fuel, and a post was mounted on the wall to hold extra blades. The back wall of this cabinet a scoop shovel and pry bar were mounted. In the second passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was added to mount shovels and a broom. A set of irons was mounted on the floor of this compartment. In the passengers side first compartment, a Chanl Panl board was installed to mount spanner wrenches and space was left on this board for future use. In the lower portion of this cabinet, a plastic welded divider was prefabricated outside of the apparatus and then bolted in place, based on what equipment was going to be carried in this compartment. The plastic welded divider was designed to hold extinguishers, tarps/pads, and oil dry with a an open space for future use. In the cab of the apparatus, Sensible Products fabricated plastic welded boxes for two bullet proof vests that needed to be carried on the truck. The boxes were welded with a slot for a vest on the bottom and an open box on the top to hold clip boards, gloves, etc. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags for ease of use. This truck was completed in 4 days and is ready to Go In-Service when leaving Sensible Products Inc.
