Two Pierce Engines for Massillon Fire Department, Massillon, Ohio. Sensible Products Inc. worked with the Massillon Fire Department prior to the two trucks arriving at Sensible Products to look at the trucks and give them an quote on the equipment mounting. Both trucks were delivered to Sensible Products at the same time, which made completing the job faster because both trucks were to be set up identically. In the first drivers side compartment, both vertical slide outs had Chanl Panl mounted to both sides and also the side walls of this compartment. All water flow equipment was mounted on the left side wall and on one vertical slide out. This included storz fittings, small couplings, mallet, various nozzles, foam tube, foam eductor and wrenches. On the other vertical slide out and right side wall, tools including: pick head axe, flat head axe, NY Hook, bolt cutters, sledge hammer, K-tool, and piercing nozzle were mounted. Black poly floor boards were also mounted in this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, a black poly floor board was mounted to the floor and on the slide out/down unit. The out/down unit was lowered to allow enough room to mount two saws, but left enough room to slide tarps underneath. A chain and rotary saw were mounted, a pocket for saw parts, and a post for extra saw blades was mounted. In the third drivers side compartment, a plastic welded compartment divider was installed to separate and secure the air bags, cribbing, and various bags and boxes. Kodiak Jacks and a sawzall were mounted on the top shelf in this compartment. A custom cargo net was added to help secure the cribbing. In the lower portion of this compartment on the slide out tray, a cutter, spreader, and ram were mounted. In the rear of the apparatus, a vent fan and hydrant bag were mounted on a black poly floor board. In the third passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was mounted and cords and adapters were mounted. A portable light was mounted on the shelf. In the lower portion of this compartment on the slide out tray, a plastic welded divider was made to hold the generator and portable lights. The divider provides each piece of equipment their own space to sit in without sliding around. In the second passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was mounted and black poly board was mounted on the floor. In this compartment, two SCBAs, rope bags, and EMS bag were mounted. In the first passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was mounted and three fire extinguishers and a RIT Pack were mounted. A black poly floor board was mounted to the slide out tray in the lower portion of this compartment. Two Chanl Panl boards were mounted in the cab of the apparatus and a pike pole, pick head axe, and irons were mounted. Also in the cab, Sensible Products fabricated a custom plastic welded map box with dividers, cup holder, and space for a glove box. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. Both trucks were completed in 7 1/2 business days.
