Munson Fire Department, Chardon, Ohio. New Sutphen Ladder Truck for Munson Fire Department. This is the second truck Sensible Products has outfitted for Munson Fire Department. Prior to bringing the truck to Sensible Products, we met with the Chief and committee at their department to go over mounting options on their new truck. Once at Sensible Products, work began to remove or modify shelves and mount a variety of equipment. First drivers side compartment contained all water flow equipment. Chanl Panl wall boards were installed on rear and side walls to utilize all possible space. Spanner wrenches and mallet were mounted on the door. Hose rolls and two nozzles were secured in the lower portion of this cabinet. Second drivers side compartment contained a chain and rotary saw, extra blades, and saw parts all of which were mounted or secured on a tip down unit. The third drivers side compartment was modified to better fit the tools and equipment the department wanted to carry. The truck came with two shelves across the full compartment. Sensible Products cut these to half shelves, created an aluminum divider, and mounted all the tools vertically on the left side of the compartment using Chanl Panl rear and side wall boards. There was then still space on the half shelves for their barrier tape, battery tools, sawzall, and cones. In the fourth drivers side compartment, Sensible Products added a shelf and mounted all ladder belts and harnesses either hung on Chanl Panl wall boards or in the lower portion of the compartment. In the rear compartment of the truck, a slide out tray was added in only half of the cabinet allowing easy access to two fans. A full tray was not added because access to the right side would not be possible due to the ladders. A set of irons and water flow tips were mounted in the bucket of this truck. In the fourth passengers side compartment, chimney tools were secured. In the third passengers side compartment, a shelf was removed, and a Chanl Panl side wall board was added to mount lights and cords, and a plastic divider was created to secure generators and more lights/cords. First drivers side compartment contained three extinguishers which were secured with a strap. An additional set of irons was mounted in the cab. All equipment was labeled with red/white labels for ease of use. This truck was completed in 3 days and is Ready to Go In-Service when leaving Sensible Products.
