New Rosenbauer for South Central Fire District, Fredericksburg, OH. Sensible Products visited the Fire Department to look at the new apparatus prior to it arriving at Sensible Products for equipment mounting. Sensible Products worked with the committee to come up with an equipment mounting plan. Once the apparatus arrived at Sensible Products, the equipment mounting plan was reviewed and work began. This truck had a lot of shelves and panels that were ultimately removed to make better use of the space for the equipment they were carrying. This is why we stress to plan for the equipment to be carried when specing out the truck. In the first drivers side compartment, one of the aluminum panels was cut in half and several small shelves were removed from this compartment. Chanl Panl boards were added to the rear wall and both sides of the vertical slide out board. All water flow equipment including LDH fittings, smaller couplings and adapters were mounted on the rear wall and slide out vertical board. Nozzles were mounted on the floor next to the vertical slide out board. A plastic welded divider was made to hold several hose rolls. The top of this divider provided another platform where the additional wyes and valves were mounted. In the second drivers side compartment, the existing out/down slide out unit was lowered and an additional shelf was added in the back top area of this compartment to hold light duty equipment. On the out/down slide out unit a black poly floor board and back board were added and a chain saw, rotary saw, fuel mix, and saw parts pocket were mounted. In the third drivers side compartment, the existing box to hold SCBAs and one shelf were removed from this compartment. Black poly floor boards were added to the floor and remaining shelf and Chanl Panl boards were mounted on both sides of the vertical slide out board. On the shelf, a cord reel and lights were mounted, and underneath that shelf a plastic welded divider with strap was mounted to hold 4 fire extinguishers. On the Chanl Panl vertical slide out board and side walls, extra tool handles, shovels, claw tools, and broom heads were mounted. In the rear compartment of the apparatus, a black poly floor board was mounted on the slide out unit and a PPV fan and generator were secured. The salvage tub/tarps went above the fan and generator on a shelf. On the top of the apparatus, a plastic welded divider was made to hold a Little Giant Ladder. In the third passengers side compartment, several shelves were removed to better accommodate the equipment. A Chanl Panl rear wall board was added and several tool heads and a K-tool were mounted. In the lower section of this compartment, 2 plastic welded boxes were made to hold chains and chimney kit. In the second passengers side compartment, all hand tools were mounted on the existing peg board. Tools included: NY hook, pike pole, irons, pick head and flat head axe, sledge hammer, halligan, bolt cutters, and pry bar. A black poly floor board was also added in this compartment. In the first passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl board was mounted to the rear wall and SCBAs and Rit Pack were remounted to the wall. The bottom slide out tray is open for future equipment. In the cab, a Chanl Panl board was mounted to mount 2 Streamlights. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck was completed in 5 days.
