New Pierce Engine for Thompson Fire Department, Thompson, Ohio. Prior to the truck arriving at Sensible Products, all new equipment to be mounted on the truck was shipped to Sensible Products and housed in a staging area until the truck arrived. Once the truck arrived at Sensible Products some existing equipment was brought with the truck and an equipment mounting plan was determined. In the first drivers side compartment, water flow equipment was mounted in the upper portion of the compartment on the existing peg board. All LDH fittings, small couplings, adapters, wrenches, and span-hammer were mounted. In the lower portion of the compartment, two small vertical slide outs were removed and a black poly floor board was mounted on the slide out tray. The BlitzFire was then mounted and secured with a strap. In the second drivers side compartment, a Chanl Panl rear wall board was mounted and a black poly floor board with aluminum lip was mounted. On the Chanl Panl board, a halligan, sawzall, flat head axe, pick head axe, and saw blades were mounted. On the floor of the compartment, a set of irons were mounted. In the third drivers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was mounted in the upper portion of this compartment and air bags and control kit were secured with straps. In the lower portion of this compartment, a black poly floor board was mounted to the slide out tray and a cutter, spreader, rams, and power unit were mounted. The cutter and spreader are in custom made brackets and the rams are secured in plastic welded wells. In the rear compartment, cribbing bags were secured with a strap. In the third passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl rear wall board was mounted and cord adapters and landing zone plates and lights were mounted. The landing zone plates were mounted in a pocket and the landing zone lights were mounted using custom magnetic brackets. The lights simply lift off/on the magnetic surface. In the lower portion of this compartment, a generator and cord reel were secured. In the second passengers side compartment, a black poly floor board with aluminum lip was added. This area was left open for the tool box, tarps, etc. In the first passengers side compartment, a custom welded box was made to hold flares that sat on the shelf next to the cones. In the lower portion of this compartment on the slide out tray a custom plastic welded divider was made to hold extinguishers in the front and foam in the back. In two small compartments behind the cab, a divider was made to hold and separate chains and hydraulic oil and a gas can in the other compartment. A pike pole was mounted on the exterior of the truck. In the cab, a custom map box was made with 3 removable dividers and a space for a box of gloves and a cup holder on the passengers side. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck was completed in 5 days.
