2014 Pierce Velocity Engine for Valley City Fire Department, Valley City, OH. Valley City Fire Department contacted Sensible Products for a quote on equipment mounting, some clean up, and fix up on their Engine. Some equipment on the apparatus was already mounted, but the FD wanted some equipment rearranged and some new equipment was added. In the first drivers side compartment, the existing equipment, including some nozzles and water flow equipment was removed and put in a different compartment. A Chanl Panl wall board was added in the upper section and barrier tape, a mallet, and an SCBA were mounted. In the lower section of this compartment, a slide out with an aluminum tray was added and the generators and cords were secured. Turtle Tile was added to the slide out tray. Portable lights were hung on the wall in this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, plywood was already installed on the back wall of this compartment, which was left in place and the equipment was rearranged. Sensible Products provided new mounting brackets and mounted all LDH fittings, smaller couplings and adapters, nozzles/wyes, and foam eductor. In the third drivers side compartment, a Chanl Panl wall board was added in the upper section of this compartment and air bags and air bag control kit were mounted. In the middle of this compartment, a slide unit was moved from the other side of the apparatus and put in this compartment to hold the Res-Q- Jacks which were secured with straps. In the lower portion of this compartment, custom mounts for a spreader, cutter, and ram were mounted on the existing slide unit. In the rear of the apparatus, some equipment was relocated and labeled. In the third passengers side compartment, some existing equipment was moved and the slide unit from the floor of this compartment was removed and relocated to the other side of the apparatus ( for the extrication tools).  A chain and rotary saw were mounted and a pocket for saw parts was provided. In the lower section of this compartment where the slide unit was, a plastic welded divider was made to hold cribbing. In the second passengers side compartment, all hand tools were already mounted, just a few needed rearranged and added to this compartment. All tools were re-labeled with red/white tags. In the first passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl rear wall board was added in the upper section of this compartment and a mallet and RIT pack were mounted. In the lower portion of this compartment, a plastic welded divider was made to hold three extinguishers and a tool box. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck was completed in 2 days.
