Year Completed: 2018

New Sutphen Pumper for Wooster Fire Department, Wooster, OH. This is the second apparatus we have outfitted for Wooster Fire Department, as well as a grain silo rescue trailer. The equipment mounting for their new apparatus was put into the apparatus specification, so once the truck was completed at Sutphen it was delivered to Sensible Products. Sensible Products worked with the Fire Department to determine an equipment mounting plan. In the first drivers side compartment the existing shelf was lowered to better utilize the space. Black poly floor boards were added to the floor and shelf in this compartment. Chanl Panl rear and side wall boards were also added. All water flow equipment including LDH fittings, small couplings/adapters, nozzles, piercing nozzles, and an SCBA were mounted here. A portable monitor and low level strainer were secured in the lower portion of this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, Chanl Panl boards were added to both sides of the swing out for future use and (6) SCBA brackets were mounted on the back wall of the compartment. In the third drivers side compartment, Chanl Panl boards were added to the rear wall, side walls, and all 4 sides of (2) pull out vertical tool boards. A tri-pod light, broom head, squeegee, claw tools, NY hooks, pike poles, trash hook, bolt cutters, K-tool, flat and pick head axe, TNT tool, shovels, and various extension poles for these tools were all mounted in this area. In the rear of the apparatus, a black poly floor board was added in the pull out tray and (3) saws, saw blades, saw parts, and ball valve were all mounted here. In the third passengers side compartment, two small Chanl Panl boards were mounted in the top section of this compartment to hold cord adapters and portable lights. In the lower portion of this compartment, a black poly floor board was added and (2) fans were secured with straps. In the second passengers side compartment, only labeling of the various bags, tarps, and chimney kit was done. In the first passengers side compartment, a fixed aluminum divider and shelf were added in the upper portion this compartment to hold a cone, cribbing, tool box, and battery tools. In the lower portion of this compartment, a plastic welded divider liner was added to secure extinguishers, foam, and oil dry. In one of the small cab compartments, (2) black poly shelves were added, one which ran the full length of the compartment and the other a half shelf to hold various bags. In the other cab compartment, a custom plastic welded box with (3) cubby hole spaces was made to fit in the entire area of this compartment. On the passengers side in the cab, a Chanl Panl board was mounted and a sledge hammer, pick head axe, and extinguisher were mounted to the board. Also in this area, a custom plastic welded box bracket was made to hold a set of irons in a safe and secure manner. On the drivers side in the cab, the RIT pack was secured with straps, and a custom plastic welded EMS cabinet with (2) shelves and cargo net was made for this area. The shelves were mounted with uni-strut to allow them to be moved up or down per space requirements. With a lot of custom work, plastic shelving, and boxes made per the Fire Departments directions, it made for a very functional piece of apparatus for the Fire Department. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck was completed in 6 days.
