New Pierce Engine for Canton Twp. Fire Department, Canton, Ohio. Sensible Products had outfitted this department’s ladder truck almost a year prior. This truck was to be set up similar to the ladder truck. Sensible Products visited the department prior to them bringing the truck to come up with an equipment mounting plan. In the first drivers side compartment, a Chanl Panl rear wall board and two Chanl Panl side wall boards were mounted. A black poly floor board was also installed on the shelf. All water flow equipment including LDH fittings, couplings, adapters, nozzles, mallets, and hydrant wrench were mounted in this compartment. In the lower section of this compartment, a plastic welded liner/divider was made and installed to separate and secure foam buckets and cones. A foam eductor was also mounted on the back wall in the lower portion of this compartment. In the second drivers side compartment, a black poly floor board was added and a piece of black Chanl Panl was added as a divider to separate step chocks, chain kit, extra saw blades on a post , and some saw parts in a pocket. An aluminum shelf was also installed at the rear of this compartment. In the third drivers side compartment, all extrication equipment was mounted. Brackets were fabricated and installed for power plant, cutter, spreader, and two rams on a slide out tray. A fixed rear wall was added to back of this tray to hang hoses and miscellaneous equipment. Also in this compartment, two out/down slide out units were installed by Sensible Products to hold Kodiak jacks and battery tools. In the rear of the apparatus, a black poly floor board was added to the slide out tray and two fans were mounted. A portable monitor was mounted on the exterior of the truck in the rear. In the third passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl rear wall board was mounted and black poly floor boards were mounted on the both the shelf and lower floor area of this compartment. All electrical cords and accessories were mounted to the Chanl Panl board as well as a post for barrier tape. A chain saw and gas can were mounted on the shelf in this compartment. In the lower section of this compartment, a generator, rotary saw and an additional gas can were mounted. In the second passengers side compartment, a Chanl Panl rear wall board was mounted and hand and forcible entry tools were mounted including: bolt cutters, shovel, pick and flat head axe, halligan, sledge hammer, pry bar, and K-tool. A black poly floor board with a 1″x 1″ aluminum lip was mounted on the floor of this compartment. In the first passengers side compartment, adjustable plastic dividers were installed in the top portion of this compartment to hold and separate the RIT bag and rope bags in a vertical position. One large strap was installed to go across all three sections where the bags will be placed. In the lower section of this compartment, a plastic welded divider/liner was added to secure and separate extinguishers, foam, and salvage tarps. The salvage tarps are housed in a custom plastic welded tray by Sensible Products. On the door of this compartment an additional mallet and hydrant wrench were mounted on a small Chanl Panl board. In the cab, two Chanl Panl boards were installed, one on each side and two Stream lights, irons, two NY hooks, and a claw tool were mounted. Also in the cab, a plastic tray with a lip was added on the dog house. A mount with a strap was also provided for the thermal imager. In the front bumper, a new piece of diamond plate and edging were installed to prevent the hose from snagging when it is being removed from the bumper. This was also provided for the ladder truck we did previously as it was having the same issue. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck was completed in 5 days.
