New Pierce Engine for North Royalton Fire Department, North Royalton, Ohio. This is the second truck that Sensible Products has outfitted for this Fire Department. Sensible Products outfitted a new Pierce Ladder Truck a month prior. With both trucks carrying similar equipment, we were to outfit the Engine to look like the Ladder as much as possible. In the first drivers side compartment, Chanl Panl rear and side wall boards were added to mount all LDH fittings, couplings, and adapters. In the lower section of this compartment, a small shelf was removed to allow the nozzles to mount vertically. Barrier and Gorilla tape was mounted on the wall, 2 pockets mounted for miscellaneous equipment, and a mallet was mounted. Black poly floor boards were added on the shelf and the pull out tray. In the second drivers side compartment, Chanl Panl boards were added to both sides of the swing out tool panel and the back wall of the compartment. All hand and forcible entry tools were mounted here including: Irons, TNT tool, K-tool, bolt cutters, Flat and pick head axes, pipe wrenches, claw tool, sledge hammer, pry bar, and pike pole. In the third drivers side compartment, two small Chanl Panl wall boards were added. A pocket was mounted on the wall to hold spreader tips, sawzall was mounted, and strong arm was secured on the shelf. An additional shelf was added in this compartment to hold cribbing. A custom plastic welded storage box with a handle was made to hold wedges. In the lower pull out tray of this compartment, a black poly floor board was added and the spreader, cutter, and ram were mounted. In the rear of the apparatus, black poly floor boards were added on the pull out tray and shelf. A divider was created on the pull out tray to hold a tool box and hydrant bag. A small extinguisher and box of triangles were secured on the shelf in this compartment. A custom flare mount was added to the side wall of this compartment to hold six flares. In the third passengers side compartment, a black poly floor board was added to the out/down pull out unit and the lower pull out tray. A rotary and chain saw were mounted here along with a 1 gallon fuel can and a custom welded box for a gallon of oil. A post was mounted on the side wall to hold extra saw blades, and a double can holder was mounted on the opposite side wall to hold two cans of TruFuel. A pocket was added for extra saw parts. In the lower section of this compartment, two generators and a gas fan were secured. Brackets for cords were mounted on the back wall. In the second passengers side compartment, a black floor board with a 1″ x 1″ aluminum lip was added to hold the apartment pack and to keep it from sliding out. A set of irons was mounted on the back wall of this compartment. In the first passengers side compartment, black poly floor boards were added to two out/down pull out units and a pull out tray. On the top out/down unit, mounts were made to secure several battery chargers. On the middle out/down unit, portable lights and tarps were secured. On the lower pull out tray in this compartment, a custom plastic welded divider was made to separate and secure the electric fan, oil dry, and three extinguishers. Brooms were mounted on the back wall of this compartment. Two SCBAs were strapped down in the cab area and a custom plastic welded double glove box holder was also mounted in the cab. All equipment was labeled with red/white tags. This truck was completed in 5 days.
